In his role as the Vice President, Industry Initiatives, at NASSCOM he has been at the forefront of the apex body’s efforts towards building a strong coalition among members to help India retain its pole position in IT in the fields of Business Process Management, Big Data, Analytics, Engineering and R&D, IOT, Data Sciences, AI, Product segment and IT services. KSV as he is called, is also overseeing the Start-up initiatives at NASSCOM and has been the key evangelist to build CoEs involving Industry, Government and Academia in the emerging areas of Io, Data Sciences, and AI. His key role is to evangelize adoption of technology by the enterprises to achieve competitive advantage
Viswanathan was closely associated with the initiative to build processes that drove National Skills registry, aimed at making India a safe and secured destination for IT outsourcing/offshoring activities including strengthening the Background Verification Process in the country
In his career spanning more than three decades, Mr. Viswanathan has held strategic & leadership positions at Wipro Infotech, Dell, and Azim Premji Foundation. As a Senior Vice President and Chief Executive for India geography at Wipro Infotech (2003-2008), he led the customer engagement program in India that was acknowledged as the best in class amongst Wipro Limited entities. He was the first country manager for Dell in India in 2000 and was instrumental in establishing Dell’s direct business model in India.
Mr. Viswanathan has over 36 years of Industry relevant experience. KSV is a graduate from Birla Institute of Technology and Science and holds a MBA in marketing from Madras University.
